Seashells in bulk sold by the gallon, these bulk bat volute shells, Cymbiola vespertilio, measure  2 to 3 inches in length and are found in the Philippines to North Australia.  These  medium craft seashells in bulk are a popular shell for shell crafters who make seashell mirrors, wreaths, shell candles and shell ornaments.  Bat volute seashells in bulk also make an attractive accent to any shell basket.  Volutes are often callled the aristocrats of the shell world.  The beautiful colors and striking patterns of the many species of volutes make this a popular family to collect.  Most volutes live in sandy habitats where they burrow into the sand and remain buried until night.  They are carnivores, feeding on other mollusks that they detect by small.  There are approximately 250 species of volutes.
