 We carry wholesale dried blowfish, dried porcupine fish, dried puffer fish and porcupinefish in bulk from 3 inches up to 22 inches in length for blowfish crafts.  The porcupine fish and puffer fish and wholesale blowfish come with a hanger for easy display.  Tetraodontidae is a family that includes species called puffers, balloon fish, blowfish, bubblefish, globefish, and swellfish.  The spines of the Tetraodontidae are small, almost sandpaper-like.  Puffer fish are the second most poisonous vertebrate in the world.  However, in Japan and Korea these are prepared by highly skilled chefs and are a delicacy.

Porcupine fish are fish of the family Diodontidae, also commonly called blowfish.  Porcupine fish have heavy spines on their body.  Porcupine fish are medium to large sized fish, and are found in shallow temperate and tropical seas worldwide.  Porcupine fish have the ability to almost double their size by inflating their body by swallowing water or air, thereby becoming rounder.  This increase in size reduced the range of potential predators to those with much bigger mouths.

 Porcupinefish have heavy sharp spines on their body and these spines are VERY SHARP and can be 2 inches long!
