50 Semi-Cleaned thin African porcupine quills (Hystrix africaeaustralis) measuring approximately 6 to 16 inches long.  These quills are dirty (semi cleaned) they will need to be cleaned and wiped downThe bundle may contain a few quills either below or above the size range you ordered.  The thickness will vary within the bundle also. Damage to tips of some quills. African Porcupine quills are used in American Indian crafts. Quillwork is perhaps the oldest form of embroidery used by Native Americans. Quills were folded, twisted, wrapped, plaited and sewn using a wide range of techniques to decorate articles of clothing, bags, knife sheaths, baskets, wooden handles and pipe stems. Quillwork has been, and continues to be used to decorate the basketry of various Native American tribes.


These are real porcupine quills. The quills are VERY SHARP!
