Enhance your oddities collection with a beautifully preserved Lesser Short-Nosed Fruit Bat (Cynopterus brachyotis). This authentic, face-down specimen features delicately folded wings and measures approximately 5 inches long by 2 inches wide, making it a perfect addition to shadow boxes, curiosity cabinets, or gothic decor displays. Known as a phytophilic (plant-loving) species, the Lesser Short-Nosed Fruit Bat natively inhabits tropical rainforests, where it roosts under modified palm and orchid leaves. This unique specimen beautifully showcases the species' famous foxlike face, large dark eyes, short brown fur, and distinct dark-spotted wings.
Please handle this specimen with extreme care. Preserved bat wings are incredibly delicate and share a texture similar to fragile butterfly wings. We recommend keeping the specimen inside a protective display frame or glass cloche to prevent damage from dust and moisture.
