Warthog tusks, ivory for carving are sold by the pound. We have hand selected and photographed the warthog tusks shown in each of the photos below. Ivory for carving from warthog tusk are sold by the individual tusk and in bulk lots. African warthog tusk are measured around the curve of the tusk. If you are looking for ivory for carving, the small size warthog tusk or ivory measures up to 6 inches around the curve of the tusk; medium size warthog tusk measures between 6 and 8 inches around the curve of the warthog's tusk and the large measures 9 inches and up around the curve of the warthog tusk. We also sell an assortment of sizes by the pound. Warthog tusk is used for making knife handles, carving, making warthog handles for walking canes and for numerous taxidermy craft projects. Warthogs got their names from the bumps on their faces that look like warts. They also each have four tusks, two on each side of their snouts. The upper tusks are longer and curve toward each other. Warthogs are pigs that live in Africa south of the Sahara.
