Preserved Burmese Python (Python bivittatus) snake head from South Florida. This Burmese python head measures approximately 3  inches long and 2 inches wide .  In South Florida, Burmese pythons are found primarily in and around the Everglades ecosystem, where the snake represents a major threat to native wildlife. One way to identify a Burmese python is by it unique markings - dark, arrowhead- shaped wedged extending toward the nose with a tan-colored line through the middle - diamond-shaped head with blunt nose and tan body with dark blotches along the back and side resembling puzzle pieces or the markings on a giraffe. These Burmese python snake heads will have natural imperfections found on all wild animals.
