Real African Spring Hare skull for sale, Pedetes capensis.  Also, Cape Hare Skulls.  The South African springhare or springhaas is not actually a hare, but a member of the order Rodentia.  It is one of two living species in the genus Pedetes, and is native to southern Africa.  The springhare resembles a small kangaroo (though unrelated) with well-developed hind legs, which allow it to leap over 2 m (6 ft 7 in).  It is for this ability that it gets its name.   The Cape, common or brown hare, Lepus capensis is a hare natively found throughout Africa, and has spread to many parts of Europe, the Middle East and Asia.  The Cape Hare is a herbivore, typically eating grass and shrubs of various types. Coprophagy, the consumption of fecal material, is a common behavour amongst rabbits and hares. This habit allows the animal to extract the maximum nourishment from its diet, and microbes present in the pellets also provide nutrients. These African spring hare skulls have been cleaned and cleared for legal entry into the United States by the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S Customs.
